Newton’s Thinkers at Beacon Heights
A school community that shows up.
Beacon Heights Newton’s Thinkers serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade through after-school, Saturday, and summer programming. The program helps students strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and participate in meaningful enrichment experiences beyond the regular school day.

About the Site
At Beacon Heights, students engage in reading, math, science, STEAM, mentoring, service learning, family engagement, and hands-on activities that connect classroom learning to the world around them.
Beacon Heights is a deeply connected and diverse school community, with a large walking population and strong representation of African American and Hispanic families. That community connection is one of the site’s greatest strengths. Families do more than register for programming — they attend, participate, encourage, and help make Newton’s Thinkers feel like an extension of the school family.
The energy at Beacon is unmistakable. The school has been recognized by MSDE as one of Maryland’s Top 50 Improved Schools, and BTS’ work at Beacon builds on that same spirit of momentum, persistence, and belief in student growth.
