A Summer Without Walls was created from a simple idea: summer should feel open, active, and full of possibility.
Hosted by Better Than School Enterprises (BTS), A Summer Without Walls gives students a camp experience rooted in exploration, creativity, movement, and meaningful enrichment. The name is intentional. Students are meant to get outside, get moving, and experience the world around them, while also diving into hands-on STREAM activities that let them build, imagine, collaborate, and create.
Through field experiences, outdoor activities, creative projects, team challenges, and community-centered programming, students are invited into a summer that feels joyful, purposeful, and alive.
A Summer Without Walls is made possible through grant funding, allowing BTS to create a summer experience that is accessible, intentional, and built around what students need to thrive.

A Summer Without Walls is designed to feel active, open, and full of possibility from the start.
BTS builds the camp experience so students can connect with people, places, ideas, and opportunities beyond their usual routines. Field trips, outdoor activities, guest experiences, special events, creative challenges, and hands-on STREAM enrichment help students explore with curiosity and confidence.
Each day blends structure with discovery. Students work with their hands, move through new experiences, build relationships, and take part in projects and activities that invite them to try, create, collaborate, and grow. Along the way, they practice independence, strengthen communication, take on challenges, learn how to participate in a community, and build the confidence to try again when something is hard.
The result is a summer camp experience shaped by joy, movement, imagination, and growth, with enough structure to support students and enough freedom to let curiosity breathe.
STREAM With Room to Dream
At the heart of A Summer Without Walls is the belief that students need opportunities to learn through doing.
STREAM enrichment allows students to explore science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and math through experiences that are hands-on, creative, and connected. Students may design, build, perform, experiment, read, problem-solve, or work through challenges that ask them to think in new ways.
The structure matters. Students are not just being kept busy. They are being invited to participate in activities that feel active, social, and memorable. The right project can help a student see themselves as a creator. The right field experience can make an idea feel real. The right challenge can turn uncertainty into confidence.
A Summer Without Walls gives students space to dream out loud and then build, test, revise, and share what they imagined.
In 2026, BTS is continuing the vision of A Summer Without Walls with a camp experience designed to help students explore, create, connect, and grow.
This year’s program builds on the spirit of the original idea: a summer camp unencumbered by walls. Students will have opportunities to engage in STREAM enrichment, outdoor and hands-on activities, field experiences, special events, and community-building experiences that make the summer feel full.

More Than Summer Care
A Summer Without Walls is part of BTS’ larger commitment to creating experiences students remember.
Across our programs, BTS works to build spaces where students are challenged, supported, and invited to see themselves differently. Sometimes that happens through summer camp. Sometimes it happens through academic competitions, leadership opportunities, creative projects, field experiences, or enrichment programs.
The setting may change, but the goal remains the same: to help students grow into capable, confident, curious young people.
